Dr. Huimin Qin, Professor of Tianjin University of Science and Technology. He received his Ph.D. degree of Structural biology at The University of Tokyo in 2013. He worked as a project assistant professor at The University of Tokyo from April 2013 to May 2015. Since 2015, Dr. Qin has been teaching and researching at College of Biotechnology, Tianjin University of Science and Technology. He studies structure-function of enzymes using X-ray crystallography to understand molecular mechanisms of enzymatic catalysis. Artificial modification was used to improve the activity and stability of the proteins after analyzing the protein structure. His aim is to engineer the desirable enzymes that can be targeted as industrial biocatalysts for commercial-scale manufacture of food functional factors, pharmaceuticals or chiral building blocks. His work has published in peer-reviewed international journals of ACS Catalysis, Nature communications, Bioresource Technology, et al.
